NHSMUN is so soon!!

Conference:
NHSMUN 2012

Hey everyone!

I can't believe that NHSMUN is in a week and a half! Remember that if you have any last minute questions, feel free to email me! In the meantime, here is a brief yet useful explanation of SOPA and PIPA. The article talks a bit about both sides of the argument, which I think is super helpful.

5. Access to Pharmaceuticals in Pakistan

Conference:
NHSMUN Committee

Hello again,

So I was flipping through the World Health Organization website and found this podcast. It explains the process and difficulties of providing pharmaceuticals and medical care to victims of the recent floods in Pakistan. Access to pharmaceuticals becomes exceedingly difficult in post-disaster communities, and this podcast explains these challenges. I think you will find the podcast helpful in your research for Topic A.

4. Prevention and Treatment of HIV/AIDS from Intravenous Drug Use

Conference:
NHSMUN Committee

Hello again!

So I came across this video featuring a representative from UNAIDS. He is addressing the High-Level Segment of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs about prevention and treatment efforts for HIV/AIDS contracted through intravenous drug use. I think this video will be helpful for your research on Topic B. Watch and learn!

2. Increasing Access to Pharmaceuticals in Post-Earthquake Haiti

Conference:
NHSMUN Committee

Hey guys!

You all know about the devastating earthquake in Haiti in January 2010. In addition to the infrastructural damages from the disaster, access to healthcare decreased dramatically. The effects of the earthquake on Haitians' health also increased the need for pharmaceuticals. Please listen to these two reports by the World Health Organization to learn more about how Haiti and the international community are handling this health crisis.

1. Welcome!

Conference:
NHSMUN Committee

Hello, World Health Organization!

We are so excited that NHSMUN 2011 is approaching! The committee should be an awesome four days. Both topics, Access to Pharmaceuticals in Developing States and Combating the Health Effects of Substance Abuse, are pressing and relevant issues in today's international community, and we are so excited to see the debate you all bring in March. Feel free to post on the committee blog or email Kelsey at who.nhsmun@imuna.org if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. Get pumped for NHSMUN!
