NHSMUN 2010

The NHSMUN 2010 substantive program focused on the theme of global economics and the effects of economics on the various issues facing the international community. The committee slate included committees on the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, as well as committees focusing on trade and development. Topics covered a wide number of areas, but they all tied in with the idea of economics having a major role to play in policy decisions.

To complement the main substantive program, NHSMUN 2010 offered a comprehensive guest speaker and workshop program that touched on a number of aspects of life in the international community. NHSMUN hosted speakers from the World Bank, charity: water, Pennies for Peace, and also invited workshops on topics ranging from how to run an effective Model UN program to education in Jordan.

It was NHSMUN's honor to welcome Ambassador Joseph Melrose to serve as the conference keynote speaker. His speech on the role Model UN plays in the global community was inspiring and edifying. A video message from Professor Jeffrey Sachs provided a similar message.
