Protecting HIV/AIDS Orphans in Africa
Now if you just opened the document and noticed that it’s 34 pages long, don’t freak out and exit the browser just yet. You only need to read pages 29-32. Of course, if you want to read the whole document, go ahead! But I’ll give you a brief summary of the first 28 pages:
MEASURE Education conducted a study of five different programs that help AIDS orphans across Africa. Two of these programs are based in Kenya, while the other three are located in Tanzania. Each of the five programs monitored upholds the plan of action established by the Framework for the Protection, Care, and Support of Orphans and Vulnerable Children Living in a World with HIV and AIDS, as mentioned in your background guide. The first 28 pages details the study and discusses a few of the programs. MEASURE Education analyzed each program's successes and failures and put together a study meant to improve the effectiveness and quality of current initiatives.
Read pages 29-32 about these programs’ successes and failures, and keep them in mind when researching for solutions. Based on the study, what type of programs should be implemented throughout Africa? How can we better implement the successful aspects of these programs? What can be done strengthen these programs overall?
Hopefully your research is going well!
