Thank you for your continued support to our Regional High School Model United Nations (RHSMUN). While our 2015 conference season brought many students together in San Francisco for a unique learning experience, this conference will be the last session for our conference in San Francisco.
After nineteen years between Salt Lake City and San Francisco, we have been unable to identify a sustainable business model for these two programs. While IMUNA is a non-profit educational organization, and every one of our staff and board members are unpaid volunteers, the financial risk associated with multi-year, multi-million dollar hotel contracts require sufficient and predictable revenue to continue operations. Despite undying support from our dedicated faculty, and diligent work from our outstanding staff, we have sustained considerable and untenable losses from these two programs that cannot continue.
Over the next few months, we will consult with our faculty, staff, and alumni to develop and introduce several new initiatives that will deliver the top-quality experience you have come to expect from IMUNA. We are considering many ideas associated with our National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) conference in New York, our rapidly-expanding portfolio of international programming, and several other innovative and financially sustainable initiatives that further our organizational mission. All of these will include interesting and rewarding opportunities for our faculty, staff, and delegates.
We would like to thank our faculty and students for joining us for so many years, and our staff for helping us change the lives of countless delegates. We look forward to working together in the future to further the cause of global issues education through simulation.
Please feel free to reach out to me with your questions, or if you would like to play an active role in shaping a future educational experience. I can be reached at email@example.com.
