Bangladesh (i/bæŋɡləˈdæʃ/ বাংলাদেশ) "The land of Bengal"), officially the People's Republic of Bangladesh is a country located in South Asia. It is bordered by India to the west, north and east, Myanmar to the southeast and to the south the Bay of Bengal. With a population of a little over 166 million, and a 144,000 km area, it is the 8th most populous country in the world and the 91st biggest.
