We continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation, and the health and safety of our students, teachers, and staff will always remain our top priority. We are currently planning to hold NHSMUN as scheduled from March 5-8, 2021 (Session I) and March 10-13, 2021 (Session II). We have already begun working with our venues and suppliers on policies and procedures relating to COVID-19, including new standards that range from cleanliness and disinfection to meeting room capacities or social distancing of other high-traffic areas. Ultimately, it is widely known that government laws, health guidelines, and state or local regulations will continue to evolve in the coming weeks. We will continue to monitor all of these guidelines and regulations in conjunction with the authorities. Given the uncertainty as the COVID-19 situation continues to get resolved around the world, NHSMUN 2021 will offer a flexible refund policy. Specifically, if NHSMUN 2021 is cancelled, all conference and hotel fees will be refunded.
Conference planning and school registration will operate normally, and we encourage schools to sign up and reserve their seats. With the knowledge that the COVID-19 situation is gradually being resolved and that precautions are being planned on all ends, we will continue to monitor, plan, and ensure the health and safety of all of our participants. If things change and it becomes necessary to cancel NHSMUN 2021, our flexible refund policy will ensure that schools and families do not lose the money they have paid. We are equally aware of the time and energy that students put into their research and preparation, and we are exploring contingency plans for a scenario where NHSMUN 2021 cannot be held in-person and instead can be moved to a virtual platform. However, for the time being, we are planning (enthusiastically!) to host NHSMUN 2021 as scheduled.
